Time
Sunsets crimson in the sky
Telling us of another day gone by
Sunset brings yet daylight tomorrow
Like great joys come from little sorrow.
The clock ticks away its time on the wall
Yet time is timeless of it all
Time is undivided and pace-less
Time is immeasurable and boundless.
Time and tide wait for no man
They both move on since the world began
Racing against time we always are
So much to do and to go so far.
Why are the days just so small?
Why can time not be at our call?
Days gone by are often pleasant
Be they of a prince or a peasant.
The bird of time flies in the sky
It cannot be caged, hard though we may try
It flutters its wings and flies away
To see the light of another day.
Let us then sit upon the banks of the river of time
And watch it flowing
Embracing within us the past with fondness
And the future with all the longing.
