And Life Goes On
Life is for the living
The dead are buried and gone
Pine and cry for them we may
But life goes on and on...
Cold and callous it feels today
But such is a fact of life
No one dies with the dead they say
Yet life goes on and on...
Cruel it may seem for the heart
Harsh it may sound to the ears
That dear ones mourn and condole a while
Then life goes on and on...
A part of us dies with a dear one’s death
We then feel it is a transitory world
We realize the futility of all around
But the wheel of life moves along
So life goes on and on...
There is no time to even grieve
For the loved ones today
To make both ends meet for some
Is the harsh reality of the day
And so life must go on and on...
To complete the dear ones dreams and wishes
Get back into the grind we must
There is no luxury to sit back and cry
For life has to go on and on...
Eventuality of everything we do come to realize
With the sudden shock of bereavement
Momentarily we even tend to philosophize
But soon life goes on and on...
Pain remains in our hearts for sure
Turning into fond memories through
The passage of time a love so pure
Soon we immerse into our daily chores and duties
And life goes on and on...
