Two Years Ago

Two Years Ago by Bubbles Kandhari

Two Years Ago by Bubbles Kandhari

Two years ago, you left us all

Without a word or even a call.

You lay in bed – a few months and more

Your eyes would speak the pain you would endure.

Dad would always be by your side

With tears that he still tries to hide.

Tend to your every need he would –

And look for just a little smile if you could.

Your children too were there for you

But had their roles in their families too.

Surely you knew this all along

So never complained or even frowned.

A silent tear we had sometimes seen

A sole reminder of what you had been.

A strong personality but always caring

Forever patient with our endless complaining.

Slowly we saw you wilt away

Sadly could not put eventuality at bay.

Perhaps it was time for you to bloom again

Bloom into the garden of the unseen world.

Free from the bondage you are for sure

Relieved eventually from the pain you bore.

One thing today to you has to be told

My love for elders has grown multifold.

Compassion and respect now is beyond measure

To meet these Young hearts is such a pleasure.

They are all so gentle, loving and kind

In all their beautiful faces

Your face is all I find.

I know you are on a higher plane today

Watching and blessing us every single day.

Mom – if I had but one more chance I’d say

I love you loads and miss you every day!
